I would like to thank all of you who have supported me and encouraged me throughout this campaign. I enjoyed meeting you in your hometowns, at Lincoln Day Dinners, rallies, township meetings and train stations. It was a privilege to meet you, and a privilege to run for office. I have been truly blessed through this experience and look to the future, as I hope that you do.
The primary race is over. The outcome is not necessarily what we hoped for, but in reality, I recognize that my role within the Republican party in Illinois does not end with this race. It is a beginning and a welcome challenge.
I recently attended a “Unity Luncheon” sponsored by the Illinois Republican Party. As I sat in the room with the leadership of the Republican Party, I was reminded of our true mission as Republicans—to unite with one another and support one another, not tear one another down. I look forward to actively participating in the political process for many years to come and I thank you wholeheartedly for your support and your thoughtfulness throughout the campaign.
I encourage you to join me in the fight toward a Republican win in November.
Thank you again for your support.
